I'm stuck on the loading wheel in Blackboard Collaborate?

If you are trying to access a Blackboard Collaborate session but are stuck on the loading wheel when connecting then this is usually caused by your browser.

Firstly, make sure that you are using the latest version of either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Other commonly-used browsers, such as earlier versions of Microsoft Edge or Safari, can experience functionality issues.

If you are using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox then it may be blocking third-party cookies which stops Collaborate from loading.

You can allow third-party cookies by:

  • Clicking on the 3-dotted icon in to the top right-hand corner of your browser page
  • Click 'Settings'
  • On the left-hand side, click on 'Privacy and Security'
  • On the following page, click on 'Cookies and other site data'
  • On the Cookies page, scroll down to 'Sites that can always use cookies'
  • Click 'Add' and enter:
  • Tick 'Including third-party cookies on this site'
  • Click 'Add'
  • Close Google Chrome
  • Open a brand-new Chrome session, log in to Learning Edge and try to access the Blackboard Collaborate link

Now that cookies have been allowed, Collaborate should load correctly.
