I need help preparing for an interview

The Careers team are here to help you prepare for any interview you may have lined up.

Shortlist.Me is a video interview platform Edge Hill students can access online to practice interviews and receive feedback.

You can also book a mock interview with a Careers Adviser, which can be a great opportunity to prepare, practice and receive feedback on your interview answers.

A good place to start when preparing for an interview is to do your research on the role being offered and what they will expect of you. You should also research the organisation itself and try to think of a couple of questions you would like to ask at the end of your interview.

Here are some helpful links to help you prepare:

  • Prospects – has a comprehensive section about preparing for interview, different interview types and question types.
  • STAR framework – helps you understand how to frame your answers to provide evidence of your experience and knowledge

If you have any questions or concerns about how to start preparing for an interview, you can book an appointment with an Careers Engagement Adviser, send us a message on Ask A Question or use the Careers Corner drop in service 11am-3pm Monday to Friday (during busy periods of the year) and 11am-1pm Monday to Friday (during quieter periods such as summer).
