How does the DSA Needs Assessment process work?
After your submitted Disabled Students Allowance application and evidence has been considered by your funding body, for example, Student Finance England, they will write to inform you whether they accept or reject your application. If your evidence is accepted, you will be invited to book a DSA Needs Assessment appointment.
This appointment is independent of the university and independent of your funding body. The Needs Assessor’s role is to discuss your strengths, challenges and the impact of your condition and consider recommendations around support and technology, to help you in your studies.
You can Book a Study Needs Assessment following the instructions in your decision letter from your funding body.
Additional information is available on our Edge Hill University - Disability Support/DSA webpage with guidance on the steps of how to apply for DSA and how to find an assessment provider.
