How do I make a payment for books?

You can view and pay fees on your library account by signing into Discover More and clicking on the Fees section. You can also pay in person at the Catalyst Help Desk.

You could see 2 different fee types on your account; fine and replacement fee.

A replacement fee will automatically be added to your account if the item has been overdue for more than 14 days, as we presume you have lost it.

You do not have to pay the replacement fee if you still have the item in your possession, the cost will be removed upon return but overdue charges will be payable.

Your account may be blocked until the book is either paid for, returned, or replaced so it is important you resolve the issue as quickly as possible or make contact with us to discuss it further.

No refunds can be made once an item has been paid for. If you do find the item after you have made your payment then you are entitled to keep that copy.

You have the option to purchase a replacement copy of a lost/damaged item as an alternative to paying the replacement fee.

If you choose this option there are strict replacement copy criteria that must be adhered to and we will only accept a replacement copy if:

  • It is in excellent condition (no handwritten notes/highlighting or damage to physical item)
  • It has the same ISBN or it is the latest edition (which will be a different ISBN). The edition number will be on the front page or within the first few pages.

We will not accept any older editions, different titles/authors, items that include any notes or highlighting, or any ex-library books.
