What support is available if I’m the person responding to an allegation of harassment or sexual misconduct?
If you are the person responding to an allegation, you are entitled to support throughout the process. The University recognises that this situation can be distressing and is committed to treating all students with fairness and dignity. You can access emotional support, such as counselling and mental health services, and receive practical advice if your studies or living arrangements are affected.
You will be assigned a named contact who can help you navigate the process and answer wellbeing-related questions. Support is available whether or not you choose to engage in a formal investigation. The goal is to ensure that all students involved feel safe, informed, and supported, regardless of the outcome.
You can also seek independent advice from the Students’ Union Advice Team, who offer free, confidential guidance separate from the University.
If you need any further assistance please contact us through AskUs, at the Catalyst Helpdesk, or by calling 01695 650800.
