EPUB/PDF eBooks in reading lists

Where available, ProQuest Ebook Central ebooks are now defaulting to EPUB format, although this is not currently available for all books in this collection.

EPUBs have several advantages

  • Natively accessible
  • Dynamic, interactive, reflowable text
  • Hyperlinks and multimedia
  • Better support for non-Roman languages
  • Best for smaller-format mobile devices

PDFs on the other hand offer

  • Fixed size, page at a time display
  • Look and feel of a printed book
  • Page numbering that reflects the printed book

To toggle between your preferred format, you should

  • Click on the Read Online button
  • Click on the book icon on the top bar in EPUB, or the left-hand side in the PDF version
  • Select Switch to PDF/Switch to EPUB.
  • Any download will display in the current format.

The file below shows images of both formats and how to change between the two.
